Tasting notes This Cabernet Sauvignon shows vibrant dark berry and herbaceous aromas on the nose. Juicy blackcurrant and fine tannins combine to produce a generous and intense palate. Balanced, integrated oak provides structure, length and persistence. Viticultural notes The fruit for this wine was grown at selected vineyards in the Ballandean district of the Granite Belt and was picked throughout April 2016. The Granite Belt has similar viticultural conditions to other great Cabernet Sauvignon regions of the world, and this wine reinforces the reputation the region is gaining for this noble variety. Winemaking notes The juice was 100% barrel fermented in European and American oak barriques. The wine was racked off lees immediately after primary fermentation to maintain the clean vibrant fruit flavours. The wine was then returned to barrel for a further 18 months maturation.
