Heading up the Witches Falls winemaking team is Witches Falls owner and Chief Winemaker, Jon Heslop. Jon has been actively involved in the winemaking industry since 1995 and during this time has worked in the Barossa and Hunter Valleys in Australia as well as internationally in Burgundy France and the Napa Valley in the USA. Jon has a Bachelor of Applied science in Oenology. While Jon has a respect for traditional winemaking practices, he also has a passion for innovation and it is this combination that has brought the Witches Falls Wild Ferment range into fruition. Outside the winery Jon loves his sport, whether it be spectating or participating,
and has a passion for travel.
Winemaker Al Windsor is our part-time member of the winemaking team. Every year, Al takes annual leave from his real job as a Senior Ambulance Officer and helps with vintage at Witches Falls. Al has finished his studies in Oenology and has a passion for good food and wine. Al is the main instigator of the vintage lunch at the winery – a tradition which has been very well received!
Winemaker-in-training Abby, the daughter of Witches Falls winery owners Kim and Jon Heslop, is the reason Witches Falls can now claim to be family winemakers! Abby is in her third year of winemaking at Adelaide University. This year, she has taken the opportunity to study abroad at University of California, Davis, while interning at Domaine Chandon in the Napa Valley over the summer break. Outside her winemaking interests Abby also loves her sport, dogs and travelling.
