Tamborine Mountain Daycation

If you're heading up to Tamborine Mountain for a day trip and would like to enjoy the mountain as the locals do, then we have a few suggestions that will have you returning home feeling equal parts revitalised and relaxed with that, “it’s good to be alive feeling”.

So put on your favourite road trip playlist and enjoy the winding dappled light road, as you make your way up to our slice of heaven, “The Green behind the Gold”

Craving a delicious coffee to kickstart your day and something delicious in your belly?

Head to Main Street Provedore Eatery and Espresso. They make divine coffees and just about the yummiest twice baked almond croissant (and or) cruffin you ever will have. Flick through the newspaper at the coffee bar or sit outside and watch the Mountain wake up and come to life for the day.

Shop 1A, 11 Main St, Tamborine Mountain.

We have some beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes like Cedar Creek Falls but if you fancy something not quite as highly trafficked, Knoll Road National Park is a great option.

The circuit loop is approximately 2.4km and a fairly easy walk. Slightly steep in parts, it's quite luscious, but pack some spare shoes as it can get a little muddy at times! Cameron Falls is lovely after we’ve had some rainfall but even if the falls themselves are dry, it offers a beautiful vista looking out over the sprawling Scenic Rim.

Worked up an appetite after your walk??  It’s okay if you haven’t, you’ll just have to take a five minute backtrack, it'll be worth it!  But if your tummy is making all the, I’m hungry sounds, do it a favour and head into Picnic-real food bar, a new addition to the mountain, we local “Tambo’s” have been flocking to.

Sustainably built, with a focus on local and seasonal foods, they have nourishing salads and juices that will make you feel like your body is glowing. Homemade pastries, sandwiches, amazing coffee and specialty beer and wines (including ours!) await you. Select some goodies to takeaway and picnic somewhere, or relax and sit on their eye pleasing deck.

Fun fact: They ensure all their kitchen waste is turned into compost so as to minimise garbage and feed our soils.

If shopping is your thing (isn’t it everyones?), and you're looking for a gift or something for yourself, or just a general mooch, we local lasses have a couple of favourite stores, inspired by farm living and rustic accents.

Mountain House has some beautiful pieces for the home, showcasing the works of local artisans.

Okay, another homewares store but Lux and Gather is so pretty!...Their current palate truly reflects that of the Mountain and offers lots of luxe pieces for your home, linen pieces for the wardrobe and some delicious goodies for the skin.

Continue south from Lux and Gather and you will happen upon “Under The GreenWood Tree”

An independent bookstore (as rare as hens teeth these days), owner Janene has curated the most wonderful selection of books, and it's a treat for bookworms to actually touch and turn pages! Truly stunning, there is something for everyone and in this delightfully cosy space, you can lose track of time as you get lost in the stunning array of literary choices, whilst you also enjoy the incorporated Art Gallery.

Since you are there, pop in and see Amanda Darling in her equally darling Antiques Store, and linger in there before heading to see us at the winery.

So you have had coffee, you’ve hiked (kind of), no, we are sticking with hiking... you’ve shopped and you’ve lunched. It is most certainly time to relax and we can’t think of many places better than our stunning winery.

Come in and visit us at Witches Falls and let one of our amazing staff members guide you through a wine tasting (just close your eyes and pretend you're in Italy or France ) or just sit with a glass of wine or a newly released cider. Enjoy our seriously good tunes, soak in your surrounds and let the afternoon slip away in the most delightful way!

We hope this little guide helps you enjoy your time up on our beautiful mountain and of course we look forward to seeing you in cellar door!
