Amongst those in the know, it is a truth universally acknowledged that Sunset Sips at Witches Falls Winery is one of Tamborine Mountain’s best-kept secrets.
With the winery’s jasmine-smothered cellar doors remaining open until 7 pm on Friday evenings, the in-the-know local crowd has made it somewhat of a summer ritual to stop by the vineyards and raise a glass of their favourite wine to the week’s end, and for good reason, too.
Vineyards are, by nature, beautiful places. However seen through the bottom of a well-polished wine glass, it may be argued that there is no finer setting in which to toast the impending weekend than the Witches Falls vineyard catching the last golden rays of the setting sun.
With wine aplenty, gorgeous staff, a well-stocked larder bursting with local delicacies, and their very own range of artisan-made cheeses, it’s no wonder that those lucky Tamborine locals have been reticent to share the details of their Friday evening sojourns, until now.
We have spoken with our regulars and, together, we’ve come to the conclusion that a joy shared is a joy doubled - as long as there’s plenty of cheese to go around. From this day forward, we encourage all of our neighbours in the Scenic Rim to join us at the winery and partake in the end of week festivities so affectionately dubbed Sunset Sips.
