These wines are truly special, representing the pinnacle of our winemaking vision. From the beginning, our goal has been to produce a premium range of wines that showcase the Granite Belt Region as a world-class cool climate wine-growing area. This vision has come to life in our Prophecy range.
Why "Prophecy"?
The name "Prophecy" signifies the prediction or foretelling of future excellence. When we identify an exceptional parcel of fruit, we can foresee the creation of an extraordinary wine from the vineyard to the final bottle.
Craftsmanship from Vineyard to Bottle
Each Prophecy wine is treated with the utmost care from the vineyard through to the bottle. To date, our Prophecy range has featured mostly noble variety reds – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. These wines are a true revelation, sourced from the highest quality vines and produced with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing Queensland’s striking capacity for excellence. As Prophecy wines are produced only from selected parcels of fruit deemed exceptional, these wines are not available every vintage, making them even more exclusive. Prophecy wines are barrel aged for up to 24 months to achieve their full potential.
An Unmatched Legacy
Our Prophecy Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an impressive pedigree – the 2005 vintage was the highest scoring in its class at the prestigious 2007 Rutherglen Wine Show and received a remarkable 94 points from James Halliday in his 2009 edition of the Australian Wine Companion.
The Prophecy Range
2022 Prophecy Syrah: a testament to the remarkable potential of the Granite Belt. This impressive, medium-to-full-bodied syrah has been meticulously matured in a blend of seasoned French and American oak barriques.
Exquisite, veracious, and intriguing, the Prophecy Syrah is a steadfast traditionalist, perfect for special occasions or as a fireside companion. Immerse yourself in a sensory dance of sun-drenched cherries, star anise, and velvety cooked plums. On the palate, black peppercorn harmonises seamlessly with lush flavours of cherry and plum, complemented by hints of dried spices. Beautifully balanced tannins enhance the wine’s length and persistence. A superbly structured wine that promises to evolve gracefully with extended cellaring.
2022 Prophecy Merlot: This powerful, full-bodied merlot has been meticulously matured predominantly in seasoned French oak barriques, subtly enriched with an infusion of seasoned American oak.
Intense, profound, elusive—the Prophecy Merlot delivers exceptional structure and grip. Decadent aromas of candied cherry, baking spices, and cigar greet the nose and transition effortlessly into a palate showing rich dark chocolate, plum, and cherry flavours, complemented by firm tannins and warm oak. Not for the faint of heart, this red means business. The Prophecy Merlot is less fruit-driven, more chauffeur-driven. A beautifully structured wine worthy of long-term cellaring, destined to evolve into an even more remarkable expression over time.
2022 Prophecy Cabernet Sauvignon (coming soon): This striking, full-bodied cabernet has been meticulously matured in a blend of seasoned French and American oak barriques.
